About Cathy
Cathy Herceg is a dedicated somatic therapist with over 25 years of experience. Cathy began her professional journey as an elementary school teacher before earning a BA in Clinical Psychology with dual specializations in trauma and child studies from Antioch University in 2009. She went on to complete her Master’s in Clinical Psychology, laying the groundwork for her transition into therapeutic work with youth experiencing autism spectrum disorders, schizophrenia, and emotional disturbances.
Cathy has worked with prominent figures in the trauma therapy field, including Dr. Bonnie Goldstein at Lifespan Psychological Center and Dr. Karol Darsa at Reconnect Trauma Treatment Center.
From 2021 to 2024, she served full-time at a trauma treatment center, where she specialized in treating clients with Dissociative Identity Disorder and childhood relational trauma through somatic therapy, play therapy, and trauma-informed interventions. Her commitment to ongoing professional development is reflected in her extensive training at the Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy Center, learning directly from leaders such as Dr. Stephen Porges, Dr.
Peter Levine, and Dr. Pat Ogden, Dr. Peter Levine, Dr.
Bessel van der Kolk, and Dr. Gabor Maté.
