Lancaster residents can work with Blackburn Clinical Services through one-on-one therapy by secure video, offered to anyone located in California, which is the practical choice from the high desert; our only office, at 12326 Venice Blvd in Mar Vista, is about 50 miles from central Lancaster in a straight line. Psychiatric care and medication management can be arranged. Starting needs no diagnosis or referral. Call (888) 870 7405 or email info@blackburnclinical.com.

  • Psychiatric care: psychiatric care and medication management can be arranged in coordination with therapy.
  • Teens and families: teen therapy, family sessions and sessions for parents only. Either parent can consent, and 18 year old seniors are seen as well. Start with online teen therapy in California.
  • Career coaching: for young adults deciding on school or work, people in recovery and anyone stalled after a setback. Coaching is available by video, which suits Lancaster, or at our Mar Vista office.
  • Concierge Outpatient Program: an individualized one-on-one option instead of IOP, with no groups and typically 3 to 5 hours a week. Teens usually remain in school because sessions happen in weekday hours, and some Saturday therapy appointments are available.

Starting by video, or getting here from Lancaster

By video: this is how we work with the Antelope Valley. You can meet from home in Lancaster, Quartz Hill or Lake Los Angeles, or from a private office at work, as long as you have a steady connection and some privacy.

By car: the route runs south on the SR-14 through the Santa Clarita Valley to the I-5, then the I-405 south over the Sepulveda Pass to the Westside. It is a long trip, so most Lancaster clients save the office for occasional sessions, such as Brainspotting.

By train and bus: the Metrolink Antelope Valley Line runs from Lancaster to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles, where you can take the Metro E Line west or Metro Line 33, which runs along Venice Blvd. Check Metro’s maps and schedules to plan the connection.

Lancaster and the Antelope Valley: local context and resources

Lancaster had 173,516 residents in the 2020 Census (U.S. Census Bureau data via LA Almanac). The LA County Department of Mental Health covers the whole Antelope Valley as Service Area 1, which serves Lancaster and Palmdale along with communities such as Quartz Hill, Lake Los Angeles, Littlerock and Acton (LA County DMH). If you are looking for county programs close to home, that is the service area to search, and 211 LA County can help by phone.

Life in the high desert has its own rhythm. Aerospace and public sector jobs anchor the local economy, and many residents also commute long distances into the Los Angeles basin. Long commutes can squeeze sleep, family time and the energy to look after yourself, and wide open distances can make it harder to find a therapist who fits. That is where video helps most: weekly sessions without adding hours of driving. People in Lancaster come to therapy for the same reasons as anywhere, including depression, anxiety and relationship strain.

Who we help in Lancaster

  • Long-distance commuters and their partners, worn down by early mornings and late returns.
  • Aerospace and public sector workers managing stress, burnout or shift schedules.
  • Students at the local community college or home from a university. When clinically appropriate, we write leave of absence and return letters. See therapy for college students.
  • Parents of Antelope Valley teens who want parent-only guidance or family sessions.
  • Young adults with a trust. With written permission, a trustee can receive attendance and general progress.

In the office or by video: which fits you

From Lancaster, video is the default, and it is how weekly therapy stays realistic. The Mar Vista office is worth the trip mainly for Brainspotting, which we provide only in the office, or if you are already in West Los Angeles for work or family. Career coaching can be done by video too.
