Blackburn Clinical Services has one office, at 12326 Venice Blvd in Mar Vista, and offers one-on-one therapy there and by secure video for clients located in California, across all of Los Angeles County. Psychiatric care and medication management can be arranged. Clients across California by video

Clients located anywhere in California can work with us by secure video, including Northern California, the Bay Area, Sacramento, the Central Coast and San Diego. Video care covers therapy and the Concierge Outpatient Program, a one-on-one alternative to IOP with no groups. Our only office is in Los Angeles, at 12326 Venice Blvd in Mar Vista; we do not have offices elsewhere in the state. Psychiatric care can be arranged. • Therapy in Venice and Mar Vista: our home neighborhood; the office is in Mar Vista and Venice is next door.
• Therapy for Culver City residents: about 2.5 miles east of our office; Venice Blvd runs straight between the two.
• Therapy for Palms residents: about 2.5 miles northeast; Palms shares a city community plan with Mar Vista.
• Therapy for Playa Vista residents: about 2 miles south; part of the same community plan area as our office.
• Therapy for Marina del Rey residents: about 2 miles southwest; the county-run harbor community.

Outside the Westside, most people start with therapy by secure video, and anyone is welcome at our Mar Vista office. We do not have offices in these cities. Distances are approximate straight-line miles.

Teens and families

Teen therapy for high school students ages 13 to 17, with family sessions for parents, in our office on weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM. These pages are written for families who live farther out, with honest notes on the drive.

• Teen therapy for Westside families: Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica and Bel Air; fitting therapy into the school day and the parent’s role.
• Teen therapy for Mid-Wilshire, Hancock Park and Los Feliz families: about 7 miles via the I-10 or straight down Venice Blvd; Los Feliz is farther.
• Teen therapy for South Bay families: Manhattan Beach, Torrance and Palos Verdes; about 8 to 16 miles north past LAX.
• Teen therapy for San Fernando Valley families: Sherman Oaks, Studio City and Encino; about 10 to 11 miles over the Sepulveda Pass.

In the office or by video

The Westside neighborhoods above are all in Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health Service Area 5, the county’s West region, which covers Beverly Hills, Culver City, Malibu and Santa Monica plus Westside neighborhoods of Los Angeles such as Brentwood, Mar Vista, Marina del Rey, Palms, Playa Vista, Venice, Westchester and Westwood (LA County DMH). They are close enough that weekly in-office therapy is realistic, which matters: therapy works better when you can keep coming. Elsewhere in the county, most people start by secure video, and anyone can come to the office.

Which neighborhoods do you serve?

We see people from across Los Angeles County. Therapy is available by secure video for clients located in California, and in person at our Mar Vista office, which is closest to Mar Vista, Venice, Culver City, Palms, Playa Vista, Marina del Rey, Santa Monica, Westchester, Westwood, Brentwood and Beverly Hills.

Is therapy in person?

Yes. Therapy takes place one-on-one with a licensed therapist in our office at 12326 Venice Blvd, and is also available by secure video.

How is psychiatry arranged?

Psychiatric care and medication management can be arranged, coordinated with your therapist. We explain how when you call.

Do you take insurance?

We are an out-of-network practice. We do not take or bill insurance, and we provide superbills so you can seek out-of-network reimbursement. See Fees and Insurance.
