Starting by video, or getting here from Carson

By video: from Carson, video is usually the practical choice. You join from a private room at home or at work, and a session can fit between a shift, classes or family responsibilities.

By car: the I-405 north runs from Carson straight toward the Westside; exit toward Venice Blvd. Some people prefer the I-110 north to the I-105 west, then the I-405. Test the drive at your preferred hour before booking regular office sessions.

By transit: transit from Carson to Mar Vista takes several connections, usually a bus to a Metro rail line, then the E Line west and Metro Line 33 along Venice Blvd. Check Metro’s maps and schedules to plan it.

Carson: local context and resources

Carson is a South Bay city of 95,558 residents at the 2020 Census (U.S. Census Bureau figures via LA Almanac). It is in Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health Service Area 8 (DMH Service Area 8 summary; LA County DMH), and 211 LA County lists free and low-cost services nearby. The county 24/7 help line is listed on the county’s Get Help page.

Carson is a diverse, largely homeowning community with industrial and logistics employers and a California State University campus. That shapes what people bring to therapy: commuter students balancing classes, jobs and family expectations; shift workers in warehouses and plants; parents caring for both kids and aging relatives. Students who are the first in their family to attend college face their own pressures, and our page on therapy for first-generation college students speaks to them. Families with a teen can start with online teen therapy in California, or read about online teen therapy for Long Beach families nearby.
