Getting here from Inglewood, or starting by video
By car: from Inglewood, take La Cienega Blvd north to Venice Blvd and head west, or use the I-405 north and exit toward Venice Blvd. On event days, traffic around the city’s sports and entertainment venues can back up local streets, so leave room if your session falls on one.
By transit: Inglewood is served by the Metro K Line, which runs north to Expo/Crenshaw; from there the E Line heads west toward Culver City, and Metro Line 33 runs along Venice Blvd. Check Metro’s maps and schedules before your first trip.
By video: if your week is tight, an Inglewood client can do some sessions by video from home and come into the office the rest of the time.
Inglewood: local context and resources
Inglewood is a city of 107,762 residents at the 2020 Census (U.S. Census Bureau figures via LA Almanac), just east of LAX. It falls in Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health Service Area 8 (LA County DMH; LA Almanac), the South Bay service area, and 211 LA County lists free and low-cost services nearby. The county’s 24/7 help line, listed on the county’s Get Help page, connects callers to county mental health and substance use services.
The city has changed a lot in recent years, with major sports and entertainment venues and new rail service. Change can bring opportunity and also stress, from housing costs to a neighborhood that feels different than it used to. People in Inglewood bring us anxiety, depression, grief, family conflict and the effects of past trauma. Being only about 6 miles from Mar Vista means in-person therapy is a real option, not just video.
Who we help in Inglewood
- Adults in Inglewood with anxiety, depression or work and money stress.
- People living with the effects of trauma; see trauma and PTSD treatment.
- Families and parents in Inglewood, through family and parent-only sessions.
- College students and first-generation students. We can provide letters for a college leave or return when clinically appropriate; see therapy for first-generation college students.
- People who have lost someone; see grief counseling.
In the office or by video: which fits you
Inglewood is close enough that the office is an easy weekly habit for many people, and it is the only place we offer Brainspotting. Video works when a shift, childcare or event traffic gets in the way. You can use both.
