Beverly Hills at a glance, and why it shapes care
Beverly Hills is its own city with its own school district, Beverly Hills Unified. The 2020 Census counted 32,701 residents. About 1 in 4 residents is 65 or older, 38 percent were born outside the United States, and 44 percent speak a language other than English at home (U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts). In May 2026, Metro’s D Line opened Wilshire/La Cienega station in Beverly Hills (D Line Extension).
Those numbers point to many multigenerational and immigrant families, where parents, grandparents and teenagers may see mental health, privacy and help-seeking very differently. Families in situations like these often look for care when there is a teen who is struggling and parents who disagree about what to do, an adult child caring for an aging parent, or a family member whose drinking or drug use everyone has been working around.
When the drive from Beverly Hills makes sense
- Families who want one coordinated team: therapy, psychiatry, family services and testing, all working from the same plan.
- People who want more than weekly sessions without a group program: the Concierge Outpatient Program offers 3 to 5 hours a week of one-on-one care, with no groups and no hour requirements.
- Substance use with a mental health condition: substance use alongside a mental health condition, with addiction psychiatry.
- Adults later in life and caregivers: grief, depression and the stress of caring for a parent.
If you want a weekly session within a few minutes of home, a therapist in Beverly Hills may suit you better. If you want a coordinated team and are willing to make the drive, call us and we will tell you honestly whether we are a good fit.
What therapy in our office looks like
If the drive is a concern, ask about the Concierge Outpatient Program, which concentrates more one-on-one care into each week.
- It starts with an assessment. Your first visit is a conversation about what brings you in, your history and your goals. It becomes the basis for a plan written for one person.
- Sessions are one-on-one. You meet with the same licensed therapist in a private office, not a group room. Approaches are chosen to fit you, for example CBT for patterns of worry, DBT skills for intense emotions, or EMDR for trauma. NIMH explains these psychotherapies if you want to read more.
- Families can be involved when that helps. For teens, parents are part of the work through our family services. For adults, anyone else is involved only with your written permission.
- More support is available without a program schedule. If weekly therapy is not enough, the Concierge Outpatient Program offers 3 to 5 hours a week of one-on-one care with no groups and no hour requirements.
Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. When you call, tell us what times work for you and we will look for a therapist whose schedule fits.
How psychiatry is arranged
Some people who start therapy also want an opinion on medication, or already take medication and want one team managing it. Blackburn psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners provide psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management, and they coordinate with your therapist so the plan works as one. When you call, our team explains how psychiatric appointments are scheduled and what to expect at the first one. Learn more on our psychiatry page or, if substance use is part of the picture, our addiction psychiatry and dual diagnosis pages.
